Points to Professionalism

The IDHEE initiative to provide a route to a professional qualification in Domestic Heating and Environmental Engineering for busy installers who do not have the time or resources to follow a traditional course of education, but regularly attend manufacturers' training courses.

At the end of each course installers are given the opportunity to sit an assessment paper. The paper is checked by the manufacturer, passed back to the installer for a second attempt if necessary, then sent to the IDHEE for final marking and verification. For each successful paper the installer is awarded a point. Once the installer has submitted correct papers for seven different modules an invitation to apply to join the IDHEE as a Technician Member will be sent.

Recognition for the Installer

At last, recognition that an installer has made the commitment to keep up to date with technology and legislation. Accepted applicants can use the professional grade of TnIDHEE and will be able to display the IDHEE logo on letterheads and vans.
Look out for the Design Module. This will enable an upgrade from Technician to Associate Member.

Incentive for existing members

Introduce an unqualified colleague to Points to Professionalism and receive a leisure voucher for £10 when they are accepted into membership.

Just make sure they tell us they were introduced by you on their registration form. The registration form is part of the leaflet shown above right.

Benefits to the Manufacturer

Manufacturers know that the effort put into devising, writing and presenting their training is recognised and promoted by the professional body for heating engineers.
